Resultado del primer concurso iberoamericano de composición "Mtro. Héctor Tosar"
Reunido el jurado que entendió en el primer Concurso iberoamericano de composición "Mtro. Héctor Tosar", gran pianista, pedagogo y compositor a los efectos de la presentación de una obra sinfónica a ser estrenada por la Orquesta Filarmónica de Montevideo e integrado por los Mtros. Alfredo Rugeles (Venezuela), Sergio Cervetti (Uruguay-Estados Unidos), Martin Lebel (Francia), Leon Biriotti (Uruguay) y Alvaro Méndez (Uruguay ) emitió el siguiente fallo:
Declarar ganadora por mayoría a la obra "Dos episodios sinfónicos" de Ramiro Mansilla Pons (veintinueve años) de La Plata, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, presentada bajo el seudónimo "Lointain".
Asimismo, el jurado resuelve otorgar una mención a la obra "Escisión" de Emilio Gadano (treinta años), de La Plata, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, presentada bajo el seudonimo "Xediba ".
Year of Czech Music 2014
The 2014 Year of Czech Music program is an initiative with the primary objective of supporting projects promoting Czech music both at home and abroad. The project’s key words “creativity” and “cooperation” underline another main goal: to increase the efficiency and impact of activity in the arts not only via financial support, but also via thematic and temporal coordination, cooperation, and shared creative invention. The Czech Music Council is a partner of this project.

Music Council of Ghana - Building, Strengtheing Unions and Associations in the Music Industry
The 1st meeting of the Music Council of Ghana with representatives of the various unions and assosiation of the creative industry and key ministries, department and agencies which have responsabilities or roles to play in the creative industry.
Obour Rescues Aged Musicians
The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour, who promised to provide quality leadership that addresses the needs and aspiration of Ghanaian musicians, the music industry and the country, yesterday disclosed that MUSIGA has established a welfare fund to assist the aged musicians in the country who cannot make ends meet.
Fair Trade Music
Washington, DC, June 3, 2013: For the first time in music industry history, over 25,000 songwriters and composers from nearly fifty countries throughout Europe, North America, South America, and Africa have joined together to form a new, wholly independent advocacy Network for music creators. Its immediate goal will be the championing of a set of Fair Trade Music Principles designed to ensure transparency, fair compensation, and autonomy for music creators in an increasingly complex and non-transparent music business landscape.
