Jeunesses Musicales Internationales takes part in the European Development Days 2015, 3-4 June 2015, Brussels
Jeunesses Musicales Internationales, in collaboration with Africalia, organises a 'project lab' panel to debate on the subject of "Culture, pillar of Development Cooperation" on Thursday the 4th of June at 2.15pm at Tour&Taxis in Brussels.
The subject of « culture and development » will be highlighted by concrete examples of programmes and practices and focuses on 3 themes: Youth and education in arts and cultural matters ; Freedom of expression through arts and culture ; the role of diaspora in the cultural development in host countries and countries of origin.
The subject will be discussed by a panel of experts, including: Blasko Smilevski (JMI), Frédéric Jacquemin (Africalia), Sofie Leferink (HIVOS), Peter Rorvik (Arterial Network), Ken N’Diaye (L’Horloge du Sud) et Billy Kalonji (Mwinda Kitoko). Moderator: Stefaan Anrys (MO*).

European Academy for Choral Conductors
The Academy with Ragnar Rasmussen (Norway) will be dedicatedto "Bach &
Scandinavia – Understanding the music of our times through the study of Bach'slmusic" and will focus on important works by J.S. Bach, P. Nørgard, S.D.Sandström, K. Nystedt, J. Mäntijärvi and others.

5th European Forum on Music, Riga, 2015
Rather than just hearing about new technologies, markets or ways on how to improve an artist's visibility through digital means, participants of the EMC's 5th European Forum on Music, co-hosted by the Latvian Music Council, will discuss the synergies between the digital world and 'real life'.

Eight New NAMM Board Members Elected at the 2015 NAMM Show
Carlsbad, CA, January 24, 2015—At its Annual Meeting of Members, held January 24 during the 2015 NAMM Show, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) named eight new music industry professionals to its board of directors. The NAMM Board provides leadership, counsel and direction to NAMM, the NAMM Foundation, and the global music products industry.
International Competition for Young Choral Conductors deadline extended
The deadline for applications to participate in the 8th edition of the International Competition for Young Choral Conductors has been extended to January 15th 2015.
The Competition which will be held in Turin, Italy from May 28th to June 1st, 2015, is organised by Feniarco and ACP in collaboration with IMC member Europa Cantat (European Choral Association).

“What Music Means To Me” Brings Multi-Media Exploration of Music’s Significance to the NAMM Museum of Making Music
Carlsbad, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2014) - Combining moving testimonials, original photographs and audience participation, the NAMM Museum of Making Music unveils "What Music Means to Me" its most personal and interactive exhibit yet. Inspired by Richard Rejino's multifaceted project of the same name, "What Music Means to Me" opens up a channel where music makers—amateur, accomplished or aspiring—can communicate the power of music in their lives. Patrons are invited to view, listen and contribute to the experiential exhibition, which opens on December 12, 2014 and runs through August 2015.
