Eight New NAMM Board Members Elected at the 2015 NAMM Show
Carlsbad, CA, January 24, 2015—At its Annual Meeting of Members, held January 24 during the 2015 NAMM Show, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) named eight new music industry professionals to its board of directors. The NAMM Board provides leadership, counsel and direction to NAMM, the NAMM Foundation, and the global music products industry.
International Competition for Young Choral Conductors deadline extended
The deadline for applications to participate in the 8th edition of the International Competition for Young Choral Conductors has been extended to January 15th 2015.
The Competition which will be held in Turin, Italy from May 28th to June 1st, 2015, is organised by Feniarco and ACP in collaboration with IMC member Europa Cantat (European Choral Association).

“What Music Means To Me” Brings Multi-Media Exploration of Music’s Significance to the NAMM Museum of Making Music
Carlsbad, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2014) - Combining moving testimonials, original photographs and audience participation, the NAMM Museum of Making Music unveils "What Music Means to Me" its most personal and interactive exhibit yet. Inspired by Richard Rejino's multifaceted project of the same name, "What Music Means to Me" opens up a channel where music makers—amateur, accomplished or aspiring—can communicate the power of music in their lives. Patrons are invited to view, listen and contribute to the experiential exhibition, which opens on December 12, 2014 and runs through August 2015.

Are you part of the next generation of artistic festival directors? Do you want to broaden your programming skills and be inspired by experienced leaders in the field? Do you want to join a new network of future festival leaders worldwide?
The Festival Academy, an initiative of the European Festivals Association (EFA), is delighted to announce that the Atelier for Young Festival Managers will take place for the second time in Asia from 31 August to 6 September 2015 in Gwangju, South Korea. The Atelier Gwangju will coincide with the inauguration of the Asian Culture Complex (ACC), in close collaboration with the Chonnam National University and the ACC's Asian Arts Theatre. Ten renowned festival directors will guide 45 participants from the region and from all over the world through the 7-day training programme in this special context of a very ambitious and momentous art project in Korea.
NAMM Foundation Increases Access to Top Youth Arts Programs
Carlsbad, CA, November 13, 2014—The NAMM Foundation empowers life-enriching, after-school arts programs through a new partnership with the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program (NAHYP) Awards. During a White House ceremony on November 10, 2014, the NAMM Foundation stepped up as the lead sponsor of the awards, which recognize the country's best creative youth development programs that engage students in the arts to increase academic achievement, improve literacy abilities, communication and cultural awareness.

"Opérabus": an Opera + a bus
"Opérabus" has recently been inaugurated in Valenciennes (France). Along with 50 volunteers from his association, Yannick Lemaire, artistic director of Embar(o)quement Festival (an affiliate of REMA, the European Early Music Network) has completed his challenge; that of transforming a bus into a real opera theatre, with stage, backstage, seats, and high quality baroque design.
