Paris, June 30, 2014 - As an international gathering of over one thousand music professionals, the 5th IMC World Forum on Music has invited, planned, heard, experienced, discussed, debated, consulted and taken notice of over one hundred presentations from all over the world highlighting different aspects of the 'ecosystem' of music in the second decade of the twenty-first century.


African Music Rostrum - Deadline Extended to 15 July

In the wake of the cultural renaissance launched by the African Union since 2008, the African Music Council (AMC) – regional group of the International Music Council, NGO official partner of UNESCO – will organize the 11th session of the African Music Rostrum in the framework of the Pan African traditional music festival « FEUX DE BRAZZA » 2014, planned to take place in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from 2nd to 8th August 2014. 
The XIth African Music Rostrum is organised in the framework of the African Music Development Programme, with the financial contribution of the European Union (European Development Fund) and the assistance of the ACP Group of States.

Music and Politics: a shared responsibility

This year's annual conference of the European Music Council will take place in 2014 from 19 – 22 June in the Swiss capital of Bern. In cooperation with the Swiss Music Council and the Yehudi Menuhin Forum Bern, the Forum will evolve around the theme "Music & Politics: A shared responsibility". Inspired by the host country, the 4th European Forum on Music will explore what Europe can learn from Switzerland, the so-called “nation of will” ("Willensnation"). The widely acclaimed slogan “unity in diversity” is claimed by both the European Union and Switzerland as one of their main characteristics. What does this diversity look like? IMC announces results of the 2014 International Rostrum of Composers

logo irc Good Helsinki, May 9, 2014. - The 61st International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) took place at Yleisradio in Helsinki, May 6-9 2014,organised by the International Music Council and Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle).
The 2014 Rostrum gathered representatives from 27 national radio networks from four continents, which presented 50 works composed within the five years preceding the Rostrum.

Ce projet bénéficie d’une contribution financière de l’Union européenne et du concours du Groupe des Etats ACP.
