ECSA: Press Release on the Informal Agreement on Copyright Directive
On 13 February 2019, after years of negotiations and an unprecedented pressure from dominant corporate interests, the three European Institutions reached a provisional agreement on the Copyright Directive. The European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA), which represents over 30,000 professional composers and songwriters in 26 European countries, welcomes this key step forward towards the final adoption of the Directive by the European Parliament and the Council.
EMCY: GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE came to the end!
Give Music a Future, laureate of the Music Rights Awards in 2017, came to an end.
After three years of cooperation between all the international partners, the project GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE has ended. GIVE MUSIC A FUTURE was a cooperation project co-funded by the culture program Creative Europe of the European Union involving many countries such as United Kingdom, Netherlands, Turkey, Lithuania, Spain, Luxembourg and Germany.

2019 is already here and brings change and new resolutions with it. In York, where the coming REMA conference will take place, the network will hold its general assembly, at the occasion of which a new board of directors will be elected. We are therefore looking forward to seeing all of our REMA members there in March! Regarding our New Year's resolutions, REMA promises to continue its activities and projects to support Early Music and organisations that disseminate it. And to continue to share this passion with you.

Music Theatre NOW: Selected Works 2018
The call for applications of the 4th Music Theatre NOW edition ended June 30th 2018.
436 participants from 55 countries registered for this edition.
10 first productions of new works, which were realized anywhere in the world since July 2015 were selected by a jury made up of internationally renowned theatre makers from five continents. Operas and music theatre large and small, works made for large opera houses, or works created for tiny venues, which are aesthetically innovative and reflect new developments in this genre from the various corners of the world, have been chosen:
FIM Latin America Regional Workshop
The Declaration on Gender Equity in Musicians’ Unions, drafted by women union leaders on 1st November 2018 in Montevideo, was unanimously adopted by Latin American union leaders in Bogota.
2019 MTNA National Conference
The 2019 MTNA National Conference is in the works! Plan now to attend the conference March 16–20. Renowned pianist Ingrid Fliter and the award-winning Transcontinental Saxophone Quartet will highlight the evening recitals. Alan Walker, preeminent Liszt and Chopin scholar, will present the keynote address based on his newest book, Fryderyk Chopin: A Life and Times. Pedagogy Saturday boasts five tracks: Entrepreneurism, Musician Wellness, Recreational Music Making, Teaching Artistry, and Teaching those with Special Needs. And, all the annual favorites like the Exhibit Hall, showcases and the MTNA National Student Competitions will be back!
