ISME 34th World Conference cancelled

Dear ISME Members, 2020 Helsinki World Conference Participants, and Colleagues,
We are writing to inform you that the International Society of Music Education (ISME) is cancelling the 34th World Conference that was due to take place in Helsinki, Finland from August 2-7, 2020. This decision was reached through a unanimous vote of the ISME Board on March 30, 2020 after consultation with the Helsinki 2020 Conference Team and Uniarts Helsinki.

Throughout the years, ECSA has continued to tirelessly advocate for equitable commercial conditions for composers and songwriters and has strived to improve the social and economic development of music creation in Europe. Thanks to a unified collective of authors, ECSA has become a strong voice for music creators both at European and International level. We celebrate this 100th edition by reminding the ECSA community that we will continue defending and promoting the rights of music authors and creating new capacity building and networking opportunities for music creators. – Alfons Karabuda

Dear colleagues and friends,
the coronavirus keeps everything in suspense, including the daily AEC business.
Long-planned events have to be cancelled or postponed, many institutions are closed and working hard on finding solutions to face the situation, and for many freelance musicians, corona has, in addition to all other aspects, serious economic consequences. We are in touch about this with political decision makers.
The AEC office wishes you all a lot of strength to get through these challenging times well and, above all, healthy. And don't forget to enjoy springtime, still optimistic that corona won't last longer as spring does.
