IMC Music Rights Champion Ramy Essam has been awarded the first Premio Grup Yorum Prize by Premio Tenco in Italy.
Gigger and International Music Council in global cooperation, starting in Sweden
Gigger starts in November its active work within the Swedish music scene in cooperation with the International Music Council (IMC), to support fair conditions in the Music Gigger sector.
IMC is the world's largest network of organizations and institutions working in the field of music, founded by UNESCO with an outreach of some 200 million individuals globally.
The overall aim of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by IMC with Gigger is to benefit the global music ecosystem and notably IMC member organisations gathering creative actors, individuals and groups.

Ten NGOs comdemn death sentence for Nigerian singer Yahaya Sharif-Aminu
The International Music Council and other NGOs* have written to Kano State Governor (Nigeria), to call for the dropping of charges against 22-year old singer Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, sentenced to death by hanging for blasphemy.

The International Music Council proudly announces its financial contribution to a study on the effects of COVID-19 on the return to the rehearsal hall. This donation was made possible thanks to the fundraising efforts of its member, the National Music Council of the United States.
