The International Music Council has been granted observer status at the second ordinary session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, to be held in Paris from December 8 to 12, 2008. On the agenda of this meeting, a set of draft operational guidelines relating to Articles 12, 13, 14 and 16 of the Convention. The debates will therefore deal with international cooperation, the use of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity, the integration of culture in sustainable development policies and preferential treatment for developing countries.
