IMC's member of honour awarded as oustanding personality of music in Argentina

José Angel Trelles, Rogelio Polesello, Puma Goity, Macaya Márquez and IMC's member of honour Alicia Terzian were awarded a prize as Oustanding personalities of the Argentina.


The singer Jose Angel Trelles, painter Rogelio Polesello, actor Gabriel "Puma"Goity, football journalist Macaya Márquez and the composer,musicologist and orchestra conductor Alicia Terzian were recognized by the Legislature of the Argentina as a Outstanding personalities.

This were the arguments of the argentine deputy Julio Raffo (polititien of Proyecto Sur) to present Alicia Terzian,the only argentinian composer proposed this year for this prize.

" She is one of the most important composers, musicologists, and orchestra conductors living in Argentina with international level and was also recognized in the area of Culture.

"Her wide career has made her a very well known personality by her compositions, as well as a contemporary music conductor with chamber ensembles like Grupo Encuentros or orchestras,and by the organization of musical institutions devoted to the diffusion of the new creations inside and abroad and making known internationally young composers, both Argentine and Latin American" .

"To prouve this she was the recipient of numerous prizes, among the most important are the Orchestral Composition First Prize by the Municipalidad of Buenos Aires City (1964);the 'Francisco Solano' Prize for her promotion of the Argentine music (1968); she receive the Outstanding Young Yearly Award by the Junior Chamber of Buenos Aires (1970); the Prize of the National Funds for the Arts for her work Atmósferas for 2 pianos and the Violin Concerto (1970); the First National Prize of Music for her work Voces (1982); the International Prize Gomidas (1983); the Academic Palms by the Government of France; the Saint Sahak and Saint Mesrop decorations and the Papal Bull by the Pope Vazkén Ist of the Armenian Church (1992); the 'Alberto Castilla' Medal of Colombia (1994); the Miró-Picasso Medal given by the General Director of the Unesco (1995),etc.In 2003 Terzian was appointed by unanimity as a HONORARY MEMBER of the International Music Council ( NGO official partner of UNESCO - associate status) during their General Assembly integrated by the music representatives of 100 countries".

"Terzian has also developed her activities in the field of superior and university music education at the Municipal Conservatory, the National Conservatory of Music (IUNA) ; the School of Fine Arts of the National University of La Plata ; the Institute of Arts of the Colón Opera House ;as well as at the programme of Introduction to the Argentine Culture organised by the Foreing Affairs Service and the National Institute of Public Administration (INASP) .She gives many lectures concerning her music and the history of the argentinian and latinamerican Music in North America as well as all the latinamerican countries ,in all Europe (from Spain and Portugal till Rusia and Armenia) and in many of the eastern countries".

"She created the International Encounters for Contemporary Music Foundation in Argentina, where she is the Artistic Director and presently she integrates many National and International Jury competitions".
