Workshop on Policy Work on National level and European Agenda for Music

Continuing its very successful series of capacity building workshops, the European Music Council will offer a workshop specially targeting EMC members in the categories of "National Music Councils" and of "National and Specialised Organisations" in March 2017. The workshop will take place in Paris, in cooperation with Plate-Forme Intérregionale and focus on policy work at national level. An introduction to the European Agenda for Music (EAM) and discussions with the working group chairs will provide better understanding of the Agenda and the potential benefits for national music organisations.

MARS project just entered its second year of activity. In the last six months most of the preparatory and structural steps of the projects were implemented, creating the basis for its public development:

• Publication on MARS Website of 3 Intellectual Outputs foreseen: the Needs Analysis, Specialisation Profile and Staff Training Guidelines, now accessible online;


• 2 Transnational Partner Meetings took place (London, 11-12 April and Montespertoli, 13-14 July 2016) to follow up and manage the project development and allow the work of the Evaluation Committee;

Rostrum+: Thallein Ensemble at BOZAR

This concert is presented in the framework of Rostrum+: a cooperation project co-funded by the Creative Programme of the European Union and coordinated by the International Music Council that aims to rethink the ways in which contemporary music connects with audiences through radio network by exploring new strategies to develop audiences, promote new music, enhance the skills of radio professionals and inspire cooperation between musicians, higher music education institutions and broadcasting companies throughout Europe and beyond. The programme is the result of a one year creative process steered by Ulrich Hauschild, Director of BOZAR MUSIC, through an initial one-day workshop and continued monitoring throughout the academic year. This concert features pre-, in- between and after-concert talks between the audience, the musicians and a music specialists for a travel inside the music itself.
