Why join IMC?
IMC's mission and objectives honour human and cultural rights as enunciated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in other relevant international covenants propagated by the United Nations, UNESCO and equivalent organisations.
We advocate access to music for all through the Five Music Rights.
Joining IMC means playing an active role in the advancing of the 5 Music Rights and being part of a network present in 150 countries on all continents, to develop and share knowledge and experience on diverse aspects of musical life.
IMC membership gives many benefits, nevertheless, in order for IMC to fulfill its mission, we need a solid engagement from your side to support IMC values and actively participate to the life of the organisation. Only by being an active member will an organisation unlock the full potential of the IMC membership.
Please note that we do not accept indivual members. If you are an individual, we encourage you to check our members directory and join the organisation that corresponds more to your profile being it sectorial (choirs, education, promotion, media, etc...) or regional; the more we are, the better!
HOW TO APPLY?
If your organisation wants to become a member of IMC, please check our membership categories first

National Music Councils:
A national music council must be broadly representative of the musical life in its country, demonstrate that it subscribes to the IMC's position on cultural rights, develop policy positions to advance the musical life of the country and advocate these to decision-makers including the government.
Please note that only one organisation is allowed to represent a given country as a National Music Council; have a look at the list, maybe there is already a National Music Council in your country!
If this is not the case, please have a look at the admission criteria: ENGLISH - FRENCH and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you think you fulfill them or if you need assistance.
