World Forum on Music: youth led conference sessions
During the IMC World Forum on Music in September 2011 in Tallinn at least 50 participants under the age of 30 were present among over 300 cultural operators from all continents. The overall theme was “Music and Social Change”. the IMC Youth Advisory Group (YAG) was actively involved in shaping the Forum programme and organised the following interactive sessions:

Hip Hop as a Tool for social change  
Make some noise for the Manifesto and Youth in Europe!
Music on troubled grounds
Wade in the water: Singing for social change 

World Forum on Music: Youth delegate meetings

During the World Forum on Music there were two meetings organised specifically for youth delegates to get to know each other and work together on the future of the Youth Advisory Group of the IMC (YAG).
concertThe first was an informal get together on Sunday 25th September in Von Krahl Baar featuring a performance by the Estonian Vocal Group Chillin, the best vocal ensemble at the International Choir Festival Tallinn 2011.

Then on Monday 26th September there was a more formal meeting attended by around 25 youth delegates in the Estonian Academy for Music and Theatre. Participants shared their experiences of youth participation (or lack of it!) in their work and studies and shared ideas on the future aims and activities of the Youth Advisory Group (YAG).

At another impromptu meeting held later in the week an interim committee was elected with a chairperson, vice-chairperson and secretary to bring the YAG forward and prepare for the next meeting of the YAG in January 2012.
