Five Music Rights endorsment by Patti Smith

Singer, songwriter and poet Patti Smith was among the laureates of the American Eagle Awards organized by the National Music Council of the US. In her acceptance speech she read the IMC Five Music Rights because "it is nice to hear them orally so they stay within our mind".

The highly prestigious awards are presented each year in recognition of long-term contribution to American musical culture and heritage, the importance of music education for all children, and the need to protect creators’ rights both locally and internationally.

Other laureates of this 34th edition were country music legend Crystal Gayle, singer, songwriter and creators’ rights activist Harry Shearer.
