WINNERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF ELECTROACOUSTIC MUSIC MUSICA NOVA 2009 

The international jury and Society for Electro-Acoustic /EA/ Music of Czech Republic adn Czech Music Council have a pleasure to announce the results of the 18th International competition of electro-acoustic music Musica nova  2009.

58 compositions from 25 countries entered the competition in two categories: A – for pure EA music and B – for EA and acoustic component.

The jury solved it on November 15th 2009. Head of the international jury has been a composer Rudolf Rùžièka, manager and member of jury has been a general secretary of Czech Music Council Lenka Dohnalová.

The competition is supported by Ministry of Culture and Municipality of Prague.

 

YOTA KOBAYASHI from JAPAN /born 1980, living in Canada/ has received the first prize in category A for the composition KAKUSEI /Awaiking/, CLEMENS VON REUSNER from GERMANY /born 1957/ received a honorary mention for his composition HO, second honorary mention has been granted to YOU CHUNG TSENG /born 1960/ from Taiwan for his METASCAPE.


Further finalists are: Michael Clarke from GB, George Forget from
Canada, Charles Platel from France, Guillermo Pozzati from Argentine and Michal Rataj from Czech Republic.

NICOLETTA ANDREUCCETTI from ITALY has been awarded first prize in category B for her composition S´IL FOSSE FOCO, Korean living in USA KYONG MEE CHOI  received a honorary mention for her composition TO UNFORMED.

Further finalists are: Joao Pedro Oliveira from Portugal and Jorge Luis Sad from Argentine.

 

SPECIAL PRIZE for Czech composer has received MICHAL RATAJ for his composition I NAD VÍTR JSEM MARNÌJŠÍ /I am more fruitless than a wind/

 

SPECIAL PRIZE For young composer hasn´t been granted.

 

THE CONCERT OF LAUREATES will take place in Prague, theatre INSPIRACE /Academy of Arts/, Malostranské square 13, Prague 1  on DECEMBER 4th from 6 p.m.
