UNESCO funding
As a non-governmental organization (NGO) engaged in formal associate relations with UNESCO, the IMC has access to UNESCO financial support which comes under two possibilities:

  • The Framework Agreement signed with UNESCO allows IMC to benefit from UNESCO funding for specific projects carried out by IMC itself or by its members. The IMC Secretariat is responsible for the selection of these projects. Funds received under the Framework Agreement with UNESCO have been allocated also to members' activities in order to enhance IMC's action for the development and promotion of diverse music.
  • IMC is also entitled to request funding from UNESCO under its Participation Programme (PP), which analyzes, evaluates and facilitates the implementation of national, sub-regional, inter-regional and regional projects directly related to the activities of UNESCO and it serves as a means of strengthening the partnership between UNESCO and international non-governmental organizations.
