IMC News Bulletin Print E-mail

The IMC News Bulletin was an internal communication tool intended to share information with members and partners. It contains information on members' activities, reports on IMC initiatives, news from the Board and the Secretariat, reports from Regional Music Councils, information on UNESCO programmes related to music.

History

The first "Information Bulletin" was published in June 1957 under the title "The world of music" featuring a key article by Yehudi Menuhin on "The music of the Orient and Western musicians". Over the past 50 years of its existence, IMC has issued several series of Newsletters/Information Bulletins. In April 1988, the IMC newsletter was launched under the name RESONANCE; it was transformed into a genuine magazine in 1996. After the 1995 General Assembly, in order to reply to members' requests for a more regular and internal information tool, the IMC Secretariat launched the current format of the IMC Newsletter. Since its first appearance in October 1995, 31 issues were published.
